Washer Repair in the Chicago Suburbs
A washer that leaks or won't drain can cause water damage fast, so don't wait on it. We repair top-load, front-load and high-efficiency washers, including compact and stackable units, and explain the problem and the cost before we start.
Common washer repair problems we fix
Won't drain
A clogged drain pump or hose is the most common cause. Coins, socks and lint often get caught in the pump.
Won't spin
Worn motor couplings, a failed lid or door switch, or a faulty motor control can stop the drum from spinning.
Leaking
A cracked door boot, loose or worn hoses or a failed pump seal. We find the exact source before replacing anything.
Shaking or loud noises
Worn shock absorbers or suspension rods, damaged drum bearings or an unlevel machine.
Won't start or stops mid-cycle
Door lock or lid switch faults and control board problems are common causes.
Musty smell (front-load washers)
Usually trapped moisture in the door gasket and detergent drawer. We check the drain path and recommend how to prevent it.

Frequently asked questions
Why won't my washer drain?
Most often the drain pump or drain hose is blocked. A failed pump motor or a faulty lid switch can also stop a cycle. Unplug the washer and keep clothes in it until a technician can check the pump safely.
Should I repair or replace my washing machine?
Washers typically last about 10 to 13 years. If yours is newer and the repair is a common part such as a pump, belt or door lock, repair is usually the better value.
Can you fix a washer error code?
Yes. Error codes point to a general area, such as drain, door lock or water level, but the real cause still has to be tested. We diagnose the cause rather than just replacing parts.
Do you repair stackable and compact washers?
Yes, including the compact and stackable units common in condos and apartments.
