Common oven repair problems we fix

Oven won't heat

On electric ovens a burnt bake or broil element is common. On gas ovens the igniter often weakens and stops opening the gas valve.

Wrong or uneven temperature

A faulty temperature sensor, thermostat or control board, or a worn door gasket.

Self-clean cycle not working

The door lock motor, latch or control board can fail, and the oven may stay locked.

Door won't close or latch

Damaged hinges, springs or latch mechanism.

Display or controls not working

Control board or touch panel failure, often after a power surge.

Convection fan not working

A failed fan motor or a faulty convection element.

Frequently asked questions

Why won't my electric oven heat up?

If the display works but the oven stays cold, the bake element is a common culprit. Look for a visible break or blistering on the element. Don't touch it while the oven is on.

Why is my oven temperature wrong?

A drifting temperature sensor or a worn thermostat is the usual cause. A technician can test the sensor and recalibrate or replace it.

My oven is locked after a self-clean. What now?

Let the oven cool fully, then power it off at the breaker for a few minutes and try again. If it stays locked, the door lock assembly may need repair.

Do you repair gas ovens?

Yes. Gas and electric. If you smell gas, leave the home and call your gas utility or 911 first.
